NGOs shaping society

Nowadays, as much as we have environmental problems, social issues, and injustices embedded in society, we have NGOs all around the world that are putting in resources, time, and efforts to fight for a better life and to give relief to the people in need.
In areas where the government isn’t able to make any considerable change, NGOs are making all the difference by providing their assistance and services.
Yes! sometimes we don’t need to wait for the majority vote, we can promote individually-led initiatives and mobilize support to bring a positive and visible change in society.

And that’s exactly what NGOs are doing!

The number of people worldwide donating money to NGOs has increased from 1.2 billion in 2011 to 1.4 billion in 2014. By 2030, the number is expected to grow to 2.5 billion.

This proves that the contribution of NGOs is important not only in terms of the results that are achieved, but for the optimism that people may feel about the defense of human rights in the world.

NGOs are estimated to be 10 million worldwide; every organization is playing a part of its own and taking actions about different social issues from alleviating poverty to fighting injustices and curbing climate change. So basically, each one is shaping society in its way.

In the past two years, COVID-19 has impacted NGOs in one way or the other; some are struggling to cover core expenses and some are struggling from the remote management challenge. So, NGOs that were behind the curve in digital transformation have been forced to play catch up in 2021 as a matter of survival, since traditional funding rhythms have been disrupted and membership management has been changed.

This is where the need for community platforms comes in: to build members’ loyalty and engagement and help those NGOs survive the crisis.

Those “digital homes” ensure that the community regularly communicates its mission, raises awareness about its cause, improves the sense of belonging, and keep their members engaged.
The several tools provided by those platforms can enable NGOs to continue their activities from distance. For example:
Running virtual conferences to debate community updates.
Launching donation and crowdfunding campaigns.
Creating team labs that facilitate workshops.
Dedicating a timeline where members can interact.
Analyzing the collected data to maintain a well-functioning healthy community.

A wide range of additional of features that are specifically tailored to NGOs needs and encourages everyone to participate and contribute fully.

After agreeing how much the NGOs play a significant role in developing society, improving communities, and promoting solidarity, we all must do what we can to support them and allow them to operate.
